Sunday Ugly Gun Post
I think the wood on this one is just odd. It looks like the owner couldn't decide if he wanted some type of early benchrest rifle, or wanted a hunting rifle with sling swivels and express sights, so he did both. I'd guess this was somewhat uncomfortable to carry in the field for any length of time.

That was a standard pattern from one of the big semi-custom stock makers (Bishop, I think) in the '60s and '70s. I have one around here somewhere I took off a 1917 Enfield.
You going to tell me you have a problem with my lava lamps and Leisure suits too?
Someone paid a pretty penny for that back in the day. All it needs is a thumbhole to really epitimize the era. I'd sure like to get a closer look at the workmanship on that.
