OK, I've reloaded ammo and fire antique rifles before, so I'm with you most of the way, but I'm not sure what a blown out shoulder on a cartridge means. Is the rim torn?
Lots of extra headspace. I basically unintentionally fire-formed the cases. Hoping I can size them back down.
No torn rims though.
Did that with .308s in a .30-06 M1 garand once when a .308 chamber sleeve fell out midway through a course of fire. They fired and ejcted fine, but they were all straight-wall when they hit the ground. Not recommended as a deliberate act, FYI.
I've picked up some 7.5 French brass at the range, thinking it was Swiss. Glad i check headstamps
