Ugly Gun Sunday

Tool Time meets shadetree gunsmith.

Hell, I'd shoot it though, once I was sure it wouldn't blow up.

"80-year old engineer from Hämeenlinna built an machine gun from an electric drill, with a firing rate of 420 shots per minute. The gun uses 22 caliber bullets."

(22lr obviously. Sometimes the press calls them 22millimeter bullets.)

The man had used a machine gun in WW2 and he had been interested about them ever since. During his retirement days he built the gun just for fun and then brought it to the police station to get a license for it.

I don't think the police arrested him, but they did confiscate the gun and now it's in an exhibition at the police museum.
