Ugly Gun Sunday

"But officer, it's just a paperweight!"

That's ugly even for a zip gun.

How would you fire it? (Other than with complete desperation.) Pressure on the end of the barrel?

Excellent paperweight. I want one! Some things are cute in their own right, ugly though they may be!

BobG,
I give him credit for making a zip gun that has any use past the first shot; we have a thug who thinks ahead here!

Geoffrey,

Good question, I'm thinking once the cartridge is seated, pull the bolt back with the thumb and release; lets you keep the fingers inside the brass knuckles for immediate follow-up after shooting?

cmblake6,

I think that would be a pretty interesting curio myself; if you build it yourself, with no intention of sale, and it's rifled, wouldn't that be legal under ATF regs?

That is ugly indeed!

I've seen several zip guns that use that method of firing (bolt with spring); they have ranged from a .22 to a 12-gauge.

Xavier,

The finish leaves a little to be desired :)

BobG,

I'd pay to watch someone touch off a 12 gauge shell in a handgun-style zipgun.

I gotta be honest with ya, I think it looks down-right awesome. I think it would've made a Bad-A trench weapon.
