A Glimpse Into The Future
So two people were arrested in Minneapolis for randomly attacking people while videotaping themselves, all in the name of........entertaining themselves. The video showed young males taking turns pushing people off bicycles, pushing down a jogger, and pushing young children. In one case, the victim fought back and punched the attacker. Before most of the assaults, the attacker looked into the camera and said "Watch this."
Remind you of anywhere else? It does me; it reminds me of what I've been reading out of England for years now. Where it's easy to assault people, since most won't fight back, as they might be sued, charged, or jailed for injuring the person attacking them.
I realize most people don't believe this any more, but the biggest reason this kind of behavior happens is that young males don't have a serious fear of having the shit kicked out of them. There used to be a time when, if you were accosted, you or your escort were expected to smack idiots upside the head for this kind of behavior, and people thought there was something wrong with you (as in, you're a coward) if you let it pass. Now victims are expected to quietly report this to the proper authorities, who will properly investigate it, and properly permit you to testify, when they feel the time is right.
It's an excellent method raising bumper crops of modern savages, who will in turn have virtually limitless opportunities to amuse their selves upon the rest of the populace.

I wonder how long it will be before these idiots assault a Concealed Carry Permit Holder and wind up face down in the dirt. Bad all the way around. And I'll bet all the papers will report what a "nice boy" he was....
The essay "A Nation of Cowards" by Jeffrey Snyder should be required reading for every man in America.
Two arrests have now been made in this case, a 17-year-old "youth" and 19-year-old Mohamed Abdi, who is on probation for a second-degree aggravated robbery conviction in April:

Watchers of the video the attackers made will note that they are black, and exhibit all the "swagga" of that ethnic group's crack 'n' crime street culture. This "glimpse into the future" has in fact been the present for more than forty years now, ever since '60s-era "race men" such as LeRoi Jones propounded the notion that blacks "can't steal nothin from a white man he's already stole it he owes you anything you want even his life." (See "The Amiri Baraka Reader" for the poem from which the foregoing is extracted, and if anyone feels my observations are those of a racist, kindly don't confuse me with someone who gives a shit.)
It will also be noted that none of the targeted individuals seemed the least bit aware of their surroundings until they were set upon. The late great Jeff Cooper taught a color code in his pistol classes setting out four states of awareness:
Condition White: Oblivious, thus vulnerable to attack.
Condition Yellow: Relaxed alertness; aware of potential for trouble.
Condition Orange: Focused alertness; a potential threat identified.
Condition Red: Threat confirmed; readiness for combat.
I do my best to stay in Yellow, I go to Orange as seems prudent, and have been prompted into Red on occasion. I have not had to fight anyone -- yet -- because a man in Red who is truly ready for combat is not someone with whom the usual savage wants to try conclusions. Savages can smell fear just like a dog can; they can also smell the lack of it and will act accordingly. Hence: train and equip yourself for combat, stay in Yellow, and the beasts will keep their distance.
I'd love to see the video where the assailant gets a face-full of OC, a broken nose, and a citizen's arrest.
Three more arrests have now been made, for a total of five: Abdulahi Farah Ali, 18, and two "youths," one 17, one 16. The Arabic names of the two "men" arrested seem to indicate that they are part of the influx of some 80,000 Somalis to the Twin Cities area engineered by the federal government in recent years.
Papa Whiskey,
if that's the case, it's probably a simple cultural misunderstanding, and we should apologize for our law enforcement's lack of understanding. Not.
