Doubtless bought in the US as a strawman purchases....because as we all know, those redneck crackers on our side of the Mexican border loves them some gold plate finish and crappy art grips; the drug lords just have to take what they can get across the border with their meager narco-dollars.

I think so, except you never see religious figures or pimps on the Arab guns :)
The coca leaf chewing Central American empires of old live on, we just don't readily recognize it. You see, the Aztecs, Mayans and such created artifacts that were works of art that you don't have to chew coca leaves to appreciate. The central american empires of today are represented by artifacts whose adornments demand you snort kilograms of coke just to get a vague understanding of what they do this. If you're lost, well, so am I. I think I'm trying to say south of the border has gone from chewing coke leaves while they worship their god to making coke the god they can snort. This is the best I can do, as this blingtastic warpage of Juan Valdez is causing a chemical imbalance in my brain.
